Who Are We?

Who are we really? The famous Philosopher, Descartes wrote "I think therefore I am". But I don't think so. I think it is more like, "God thinks therefore we are". We are in a time in which a deeper sense of reality seems to be breaking through the fabric of time. As Poe (no, not Master Poe, but Edgar Alan) put it, We are reaching the maximum point of diffusion. A time in which all segments of nature and society are screaming "uncle". No time in recorded history has the existence of Man been so teetering as it is today. The economic events which have rocked our world recently are but the harbinger of things to come. I believe we are living in a time of warning, in which God is telling us to get our stuff together or else. Anyone can see the writing on the wall.

At Legacy One, we look at the world from this perspective: There are many people who believe the end of the world is right around the corner, so they live complacently, justifying their non action by claiming that they are waiting for Jesus to show up so they can be rescued or raptured. In our opinion, this is nonsense. People are "raptured" everyday! Jesus gives the example of two people working in the field, one is taken and the other is left behind...does this not happen every day when someone dies? The Bible tells us to live life as if there were no tomorrow but to live it DOING the will of The Father, that is, making the world a better place by helping our neighbor, clothing the naked, visiting the prisoner, feeding the starving...all of the Corporal Works of Mercy. We don't think the world is going to end anytime soon (and if it does then may we be caught doing what is right, for the right reasons), therefore our outlook is to better the world...not for the world's sake but for the sake of God's will. And from that perspective, I think, we have our work cut out for us.
